For me it adds to a fighters resume to fight outside of their home country. Greats like Ali and Robinson would fight all over the world, fighting the best foreign fighters in their own backyards.

If you look at the home advantages Ward got in the super six compared to Froch, who had to fight in Finland, Denmark and twice in the states. It seems unfair that Ward got to fight all his fights on home soil. The final should have at least been somewhere neutral.

Floyd doesn't even fight outside of Vegas anymore, let alone fight outside of the states.

I have so much respect for road warriors, fighters that win away from home, it takes a lot of strength to do that.

      That takes balls.
Milllions? Those countries are poor as ****. They wouldn't make much money. If they could and were the superstars in their home country you claim they are, they'd do it. The're fighting on HBO because it pays more than what they'd make in their home countries. Golovkin has been fighting in Monaco instead of Kazakhstan for a reason.

The thing with Kovalev is he's a US citizen and has always fought here as a pro. So this is home for him. GGG fought most of his early fights in Germany but has now has been adopted by the US, I think he's either a citizen or is becoming one.

I'd like to see a guy like Ward have a big fight in Europe and see how we'll he travels. If Floyd and Manny do end up having a two fight deal, like has been mentioned, it would be great if one of those fights took place in an Asian country.

Whatever happened to 'the rumble in the jungle' or the 'thriller in Manila' days.

It's great when a champion of the WORLD fights in other places in the WORLD, not just home sweet home.

They don't need to, but it's classy when they do and great for the fans overseas. IMO it also adds to their resume fighting outside of their comfort zone.

Because they look like ******* if they don't. I'm not saying they are but guys like ward who don't even want to leave his state strike me as weak. What, can you not win convincingly outside your home town?

Without a home ref who permits him to foul, how successful would Ward be?

I'm an American fight fan but growing up I was taught how our champions would travel the world and would demonstrate how good they were, and how they were love in other countries. I can understand the frustration, these fighters today lack the courage of fighters from yesterday. Ray Robinson and Ali woulda beat your ass in your mamas house if they had to.
