Comments Thread For: Photos: Marco Huck With Brutal KO of Mirko Larghetti

Halle, Germany - In the end, Marco Huck will retain his WBO cruiserweight crown, although there was some controversy as to how his bout against Mirko Larghetti ended.

Huck (38-2-1) battered Larghetti with a barrage of punches at the conclusion of the 12th and final round, scoring what appeared to be a brutal knockout. But referee Jack Reiss overruled what appeared initially to be a KO win, stating that Huck's final knockout punch floored Larghetti before the round was over, but the challenger didn't hit the canvas until after the bell sounded to end the fight.

118-110 and 2 scores 116-112, which means the 2 judges didn't score the knock down...good judging, right!!!...

well the knockdown happened just after the final bell. so it didn't count.

i just don't get the hate on the poor boxing judges, especially in germany; where they always turn in a properly judged card!

Nelson was there so it looks like he is serious about wanting to fight Huck, he looks like he keeps himself in shape, he looks good for a fellow old man.

How the hell did the get away with this title? Huck was lucky to get the win TBH, and the 'KO' happened after the final bell, so well, it's wasn't a KO, just Huck hitting a guy.

              Was it that bad?

I have not watched it yet but it would seem the only way to get a draw with Huck is to knock him out because it seems it is impossible for him to lose in Germany at Cruiserweight.

He's talking nonsense. At best for Spaghetti, it was 6-6.

Huck needs to look for unification. I'd like to see him fight the winner of Wlodarczyk/Drozd.

Huck repeatedly used his elbows to damage the Italian's eyes (which he eventually did)... Huck fought in spurts and a smaller Larghetti was tired during the championship rounds, with his eyes badly wounded...
