Outspoken junior welterweight contender Paul Malignaggi came down to Puerto Rico to see his next opponent Miguel Cotto first hand. He also made sure that he had a mike nearby in order to give his opinions reactions to Cotto's performance as well as to provide prediction for their scheduled fight in Madison Square Garden on June 10th. "I would like to congratulate Cotto on his win…He looked very sharp but June 10th it will be a different story," he continued saying that Cotto will be taken to school on that date. "I'm a guy that thinks and I can adjust to his style. I won't stand there like Branco did; I'm a different story because I can make adjustments" Regarding the difference in styles Malignaggi said the he has refined his boxing skills and that he has developed in his skills. "I had some problems with my right hand but that helped me in developing my technique. Now that I have my right hand back I can do much better both technically and offensively… I think it will be a night with fireworks…It's a puncher against the boxer. I don't expect him to give me the world title, I expect him to bring the fight." Malignaggi, who is undefeated in his 21 outings, is a native of Brooklyn, New York which makes this fight very interesting in terms of sales and audience support. Miguel Cotto on the other hand just limited himself to saying, "I just finished a fight. All I'm thinking about is a nice vacation. All I can say now is that Malignaggi should get ready because come June 10th he will be the next to go."
