For programming purposes, Zanfer Promotions have changed the date of the upcoming fight between Omar Chavez and Ramon Alvarez, the brothers of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, to September 27 in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.
According to a source within the Tijuana based company, the decision was made to change the date because the parties believe that a higher television rating is obtainable is they avoid going head to head with the upcoming welterweight rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Rene Maidana. The date of September 20th date was already taken on TV Azteca, by the super featherweight battle between Orlando Salido and Thailand's Tersdak Kokietgym, who fight for the vacant WBO interim-crown.
