I think many guys could potentially beat Froch, doesn't mean it makes sense to make the fight. Degale brings nothing to Froch's resume. Literally nothing. I've begun to like Degale a lot more recently, but I just don't see why Froch would fight him. They don't have history, he's not beaten anyone of note, he's not a belt holder, he's not popular after being wasted away in leisure centers on channel 5 for years. For Degale it obviously makes sense, of course. But from Froch's perspective, and if this is his last fight, it would be extremely disappointing in my opinion.

Ward didn't even clearly beat him if you remember - Froch only needed to win one more round on the judges cards and it would have been officially a draw, and Froch had Ward in all sorts of trouble towards the end of that fight, Ward was just trying to hang in there and surviveFroch is a legend. He's fought and won at the highest level in his division without break for 6 years straight. No one else in boxing can match the run he's been on since 2008 or so. The only man to clearly beat him was Andre freaking Ward, arguably the best fighter in the sport.Comment

Yep they do have a fairly substantial history, Degale called out Froch for years. If you remember during the Degale vs Groves build up, Froch was quoted several times saying he wanted Groves to beat Degale because he didnt like Degale.. And that was due to Degale calling him out year after year. This is not some random match up that has materialized out of thin air, the rivalry goes way, way back. Right now things have calmed down between them both on a personal level, under the media spotlight, but there is no doubt that Degale is still hungry as hell to beat Froch.I think many guys could potentially beat Froch, doesn't mean it makes sense to make the fight. That's not history and i remember that vividly. It was because of how Degale had behaved himself toward Groves, not towards Froch.Yep they do have a fairly substantial history, Degale called out Froch for years. As I said, they don't have history.Comment
