Comments Thread For: Angulo-Rosado II Could Be The Next Fight on Tap

On September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Alfredo Angulo (22-4, 18KOs) will make his middleweight debut against James De la Rosa (22-2, 13KOs). The fight, which takes place at a catch-weight of 162-pounds, will be part of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marcos Maidna Showtime Pay-Per-View.

If Angulo is successful, there is a possibility that Golden Boy Promotions will place him in a rematch with Gabriel Rosado. In 2009, Angulo easily stopped Rosado in two rounds. Rosado recently received a lot publicity with his knockout victory over Bryan Vera in the main event of the first ever BKB [Big Knockout Boxing] Pay-Per-View in Las Vegas.

Both guys on a string of losses....I say do it, Rosado looked good in most of his losses. Don't remember the Charlo even though it was the most recent

He did just KO Vera. Unless we aren't counting BKB.

Angulo will probably have a win soon with his debut at 162

I think Rosado is a much better fighter now, but with a drawback of the scar tissue. He was really green in their first fight.

              Interesting fight

I actually got Gabe in the rematch, but either way it has the makings of a quality fight (or at least an exciting one).

Gabe's developed a long way in the last coupla years (since he gave up the day job) is probably the more natural 160lber and already has experience and some success with the best in the division.

If the Perro that fought Canelo shows up, I think Rosado boxes snot outta him. I know BKB ain't TSS, but I was still very impressed with how Gabe dealt with Vera was known for his grit and toughness like Perro.

On BKB they said he's had an operation to get the scar tissue removed.

Probably a smart move - he claims never to have been cut before fighting Golovkin, but then gets cut in 2 of his 3 next fights.

both very different fighters from the last time they met, would be an interesting rematch. And as some have mentioned both fighters coming off of some losses this could be their redeemer a fight between two familiar foes on the downside.
