Former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. says his legal team, and manager Billy Keane, made a unified recommendation to him to take a pass on the mandatory title shot at newly crowned WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell. Chavez is still dealing with a legal tug of war with promoter Top Rank, and because of that ongoing situation the boxer has been inactive since defeating Bryan Vera in March of this year.
