That was easily the most one-sided 12 round championship fight I've ever seen. Lacy landed maybe 4 good punches all night and they had NO EFFECT on Calzaghe. I think Trinidad-Hopkins and Trinidad-Wright pales in comparison to what Calzaghe did to Lacy. Trinidad was able to come back SOMEWHAT from the Hopkins loss, but what is Lacy gonna do? He got absolutely annihilated by one of the 3-4 good fighters in his division. Who will he come back against? If he goes up, he only gets crushed by the cruiserweights or Tarver. He certainly can't go down. If he stays at 168, he has to pray Calzaghe retires, officially making 168 the weakest division in boxing. I really don't see how anybody can be thinking "comeback" right now with Lacy. That was horrendous. Where are all those people with Lacy in their avatars who said he would beat Tarver? I haven't seen a single one of them post yet. I picked Lacy too, but only because I thought Calzaghe was old and untested. I couldn't have been more wrong, but at least I didn't say Lacy would beat light heavyweights or cruiserweights. ****, some of you were talking heavyweight with this guy. Give me a BREAK!!!
I really don't think Lacy can bounce back from that

Lacy has an assortment of physical tools, as long as Gary Shaw brings him back in a patient and crafty manner (ie 3-4 tune-ups, maybe off-TV, before going after Beyer or Kessler), he'll be a title holder again....
but he's definitely stuck at 168, not big enough for 175, too big for 160 -
So what do you think that Lacy was just grossly overrated and exposed or Joe was just that good?Originally posted by DiegoFuegoThat was easily the most one-sided 12 round championship fight I've ever seen. It was a combination of the two. Stylistically, Lacy was wrong for Calzaghe. It was a match-up that brought out the best in Calzaghe and the worst in Lacy. Lacy is not as bad as he looked last night and Calzaghe is not as good as he looked. It was the perfect fight for Calzaghe and the worst possible fight for Lacy, but we had no way of knowing that and I don't think Calzaghe did either.Comment

kinda like Wright vs. Mosley, Wink was built to dominate guys like Sugar Shane, but that doesn't make Wink the greatest on the planet, nor does it make Sugar Shane a shot fighterComment
