Chocks away! At the Ohashi Boxing Gym Yokohama City, WBC flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (20-3-10 KOs) showed he's keyed up and ready...bar nothing, for the fourth defense of his crown on September 6th.

In a public workout, Akira buzzed through two sparring rounds, with a speed and fluency which greatly impressed to the assembled Japanese press.

Has anyone seen this guy fight? Love Gonzalez and real curious to see what Yaegashi brings to the table.

I've seen a few of his fights and he's pretty good despite the three losses. He throws a wicked uppercut and as ****** as this sounds, considering their weight, he's got a solid build and looks bigger than anyone else at that weight. I think it's one of Romans toughest fights because akira throws very compact and never looks sloppy or rattled. Should be a sick fight.

Definitely do, he's a sick fighter, his last loss was years ago to ioka who's one of the best at the lower weights.

Yep, plenty. He's good and an excellent challenge for Choc. He's very quick, but also quite unorthodox. He's got some defensive issues, which could pose a problem against Roman, and has a tendency to get into wars a bit easily.

He's not a great puncher but neither is he soft. I think it's more that he has a tendency to arm punch for speed in his combos, but he'll occasionally mix in some harder shots. It should be a great fight.

One thing though, Yaegashi is rarely in a boring fight. Exciting fighter. You only need to see his war with Eagle Denphan....can't remember how to spell his last name. eagle something or other.
