Well as most everyone knows he rarely goes by his nickname and doesn't request to be introduced by it every time he goes into the ring. KING Cotto is short, simple, and 100% accurate. He is the lineal MW and WBC MW champion, former WBA JMW champ, former WBO and WBA WW champion, and former WBO JWW champ. He's always in the top 3 of whatever his division he campaigns in.

He's also my childhood hero and the fighter that introduced me to this sport. That's why I defend him so adamantly. Even over the most insignificant things.

Hope that clears up why I call him that. The fact that it's catching on with his fans is just a cherry on top.

King actually makes the most sense for Arthur Abraham. After all it is a nickname. King Arthur. Sounds fitting. Mayweather has many nicknames. On Boxrec, It says Cotto's nickname is Junito and IDK what the hell that means.

Nickname he had growing up. He never was announced by it in the ring after his early years. He then went by his middle name "Angel" and then changed to "El Angel" before the Floyd fight.

I think KING Cotto sounds good and is easy to say.
