I agree, that version of Pacquiao would have mopped the floor with any version of Floyd. But.............

That was probably the best performance in recent years. Floyd may very well beat Manny at any other time but if he showed up against him in the ring that night he would have gotten absolutely demolished.

I would favor this version to beat Floyd by a little margin.

I would highly favor Manny to beat May at super featherweight where he wasn't as controlled as he became later. He was an all out agressive machine, with some of the fastest hands the boxing world had ever seen.

The version who fought Barrera, Marquez I and Morales I, II and III. That version would give Mayweather HELL.

Mayweather can't fight fire with fire like Marquez and Morales did. He would be backed up to the ropes and have a firestorm of punches coming his way, Pacquiao had a great chin and his power was excellent, he was a TRUE puncher at the lower weights, unlike today where he can hurt guys but its mostly due to speed and crazy angles.

the 130 version of Floyd is the most offensive version of Floyd. he would have had a field day with pacquiao at that weight. you have too remember pacquiao was a one handed fighter back then. I understand the point your trying too make, but barrera,morales,and marquez are not in the same league as Floyd mayweather.

Triangle theories don't work in boxing. Sorry but you cannot look at what Pac did to Cotto and think he will do the same to Mayweather.

Style wise, Pac is tailor made for Mayweather. I have always said he beats Pac and I still stand by that. Pac can't beat Mayweather, he's too small, comes forward, reaches and extends himself and will get countered by Mayweather all night long.

Pac destroyed a catch-weight cotto who wanted the fight at 150.

This topic has been exhausted but bottom line Floyd was scared to fight him and there is ample video evidence of him freaking out about fighting the pacquiao that in his own words, was "walking through fighters." Floyd thought he could possibly lose and Floyd doesn't fight guys he thinks can beat him. PAC agreed to testing but then Floyd had more demands regarding the cutoff date. The most important test is the one immediately after the fight, which manny agreed to. Now Floyd's excuse is he won't work with arum. Satisfy one demand and hell come up with five other ones. The funny thing is I actually think he could beat PAC, but he clearly never believed he could.

They didn't want proof, they just wanted him to take a test. The fight would've happened already if he did that. I mean, he did it for Rios.

I believe they wanted Pac to do more then was required by the Nevada athletic commission and Pac said that he would do testing that was required by the sanctioning body. Up until then mayweather hadn't asked anyone else to do so and wasn't really the A side in negotiations(manny and Floyd were equals). Sounds like another excuse really
