"Try fighting outside your own country for once"

Maybe that saying shouldn't just apply to anybody who's not American anymore?

Obviously Lacy was exposed as an overhyped, built up "star" who didn't have what it takes at the REAL championship level.

Everybody's (everybody American, that is) been talking about how Calzaghe and Kessler (and many others) won't fight away from home, and that they'll lose big time as soon as they do because they're not the real deal. Well, American fighters can't sit at home and say that **** about everybody else anymore. It's called a WORLD champion. That doesn't mean you have to fight in the USA exclusively.

You do have a good point. Calzaghe doesn`t fight in America because he is deathly afraid of flying on a plane. Well, thats what he said anyhow!

Calzaghe has only liked to try to stay fighting in Wales because he's a HOMEBOY. He still trains in his dad's shed! He was always a private, family man who rarely left his hometown of Newbridge.

But he really should of went to America earlier in his career, he'd be big.

Too much of a homeboy though.

Er Calzaghe fought Veit in Germany. Fighting outside of your own country, doesn’t mean always fighting here in America!! If we are going to be pedantic England is outside of Calzaghe's own country, he is from Wales is he not?

...and cricket itself is up there with paint drying for most stimulating activities in the summer But it just shows that you must fight in the US to be a world champion Seems compulsory in this day and age unfortunately, luckily Ottke is out of the game now then

That's right he did, but American fight fans and pundits STILL claimed he only fought at home.
