  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Ranks the Middleweights: Golovkin No. 1

Daniel Jacobs has been a middleweight titleholder all of 2 ˝ weeks, but “The Miracle Man” already has his sights set on conquering the rest of the division.

“It still hasn’t hit me -- maybe one day it will -- but I think the fact that it hasn’t hit me has kept me grounded and keeps me hungry,” the Brooklynite told BoxingScene.com on Friday. “It keeps me setting goals for myself.

“I want to be recognized as the No. 1 guy in the middleweight division, and I don’t consider myself a champion until I beat all the guys they consider to be the No. 1 guys.”

Nice of Jacobs to be speaking honestly for a minute. Wonder what Al makes of this

Meh, that's just the man in the suit, the talking head talking.

That's not the real Jacobs. He's a Showtime employee now, as well as a fighter so he's gonna say whatever might seen as "politically correct".

I don't think even Cotto fans would deny that Golovkin is the best fighter at middleweight.

I hope Jacobs gets the Quillin/Korobov winner. Which would probably have to be Quillin for that to happen. Otherwise there's an HBO/Haymon issue.

Don't forget the Jermain Taylor-Al Haymon master plan (Jermaine vs Quillin and/or Jacobs for unification lol).

I'm sorry, I know how good Jermain Taylor was, but I'd be shocked if he beat Soliman. Taylor is gone.

If Quillin did get to become a unified champion off beating Jermain Taylor, it would be a moment that made me consider walking away from boxing.

                  .
Judges my man judges. If Solimon cant knock him out, and he's not a big puncher, expect JT to get the decision
