but there is a question i have to ask, and because i'm a lacy fan, some of you might think i'm just trying to make excuses but i'm not.

do you guys think the ref should have taken a points off of calzaghe sooner then when he did?

Lacy's presence and sheer power was intimidating, but Saturday proved that you can't be a great champion and be a one-dimensional fighter. A good boxer will always beat a good puncher. Lacy needs to learn some boxing skills. He has incredible power, and if he can make himself out to be a great boxer, then we will see one hell of a fighter and champion. I'm anxious to see where he goes from here.

I think he should shed a tad bit of muscle and move down to middleweight, his power would be all the more devastating there. and he can rebuild his rep in a new weight class. maybe even find a new trainer like roach or joe goosen

i still think a rematch should happen (wait before you say there's no need for a rematch because lacy lost so badly, just hear me out on this one) the rematch should happen if lacy meets these requirements


-- get another trainer and corner


-- take a couple of tune up fights


-- depending how well he does in those tune up fights and if he wins them.

if Joe tries to go for the 50-0 unbeaten record then lacy should get a rematch.

After building a career on being a menacing knock-out merchant, and all round bad-ass. Does LACY have the 'pride' to be humbled, and put asside his (alround) defeat, and carry on.
He's now damaged goods (i know, it's the sign of a great boxer to come back from defeat....but when you're whole career is built around invincibilty, it's hard to make a convincing comeback....to the public...and yourself)

he has to pray Calzaghe retires or moves up in weight because right now it's a 2 man division. We don't even know if Kessler can hang with Calzaghe but surely he'll do better than Lacy.

I still think Lacy KO Kessler.It is sad to see how many people in this thread made snide comments like he should become a bench presser or a cook?Come on He lost to a guy who clearly would beat damn near anyone from MW thru LHW with a flawless performance like he put on sat night.Lacy will be champ again and is still #2 in the SMW division so **** all of you dip ****s that think his career is over.He needs to take a good rest and maybe fight again in sept or somewhere around there against a middle of the road guy to regain his confidence and test his boxing skills that we all know he will be working on and see what happens.I predict he will hold a title again within 2 years.

lacy should come home and fight peter manfredo jr. they both beat a washed up pemberton, so why dont they fight one another to see who is the better guy at this point with lacy coming of a serious defeat.
