I suspect that you are ready to put your money where your mouth is, right?

(I wasn't rooting for Martinez because I knew he was shot -- I said it here way before this last fight.)Comment

And I've been saying Cotto will get slaughtered by GGG if they were to fight since it was first mentioned. I'm not saying Cotto wouldn't fight him though, I just hope he doesn't.Comment

(I'm not a Golovkin fan, as I'm not Russian and I don't like them...)Comment

Oh wait.
Maybe you didn't actually read the first post of mine you responded to.
There has been some sort of illiteracy scandal kicking around here of late...

Cotto has the worst fans of any fighter I can think of.
Pretending that martinez fight was anything other than sad and embarrassing is a hopeless cause.
These dorks were leaping out of their chairs in glory when Yuri Foreman's knees gave out and chanting "KING COTTO! KING COTTO!"
When Cotto steps up the competition he gets embarrassed. He's learned this and made the appropriate adjustments (ducking). Why haven't his fans?
Short bald ugly dudes everywhere need an idol to look up to, I guess.Comment

So you'll take Cotto and I'll take Golovkin. How much? I want odds too because Cotto has the better resume.

I've seen more embarrassing blokes over here.

The real issue here is Cotto wants to pretend to be the MW champ. He wants the glory and respect that is associated with one of the most prestigous titles in all of boxing. The problem is he doesn't seem to want to actually be a MW champion. He turned down his mandatory in Rubio, his coach says GGG isn't big enough of a name (same excuse as the last guy who held that title), and now Steve Kim was saying that Cotto's team doesn't want Andy Lee because he's too tall and that Lee was TR's idea to help sell tickets at MSG while defending the MW title.
Personally I don't think Cotto wants to fight Alvarez at MW anyways. He knows Alvarez doesn't like cutting those extra few lbs to 154. I see Alvarez-Cotto being close and ending up with a rematch in September. My guess is Miguel drops his MW status and goes after a version of the WBC's JMW title (since Floyd is busy defending it against WW's).Comment
