No idea why anyone would bother discussing a fight with this guy. He already pulled out of facing Shumenov and Cleverley during the week of the fight, and they're the 2 best opponents he's ever been scheduled to face.

I consider myself a big boxing fan and I have honestly never heard this guys name before. I'm perplexed as to why anyone would consider him having a chance of winning the Carl Froch sweepstakes.

Jürgen Brähmer is one of today's most underrated boxers. But his name doesn't sell I must assume...

Carl Froch would certainly not have an easy fight against him.

                Piss off.

That would be a demolition. Basically sending a mouse into a Cobra cage...

It's not the 'real' title. He got to fight for the WBA 'normal' strap when the mega-wealthy Shumenov was elevated to Super-dooper champ for reasons unknown (despite having not fought for 18 months or so).

That said Braehmer is actually pretty good, he's a very sound boxer (possibly technically better than Carl) and despite not having faced many name opponents has a solid resume of second tier opponents. I'd favour Froch at 168 but at 175 I actually think it's a very close fight.

OTOH there's no reason at all why he'd be on Froch's radar... AFAIK he's not a huge star even in Germany and (as comments suggest) effectively unknown outside of the boxing hardcore.

Only reason Froch might be interested was if he was looking to leverage his way into a LHW title fight but there's been not the slightest indication he's looking in that direction.

Brähmer is probably the biggest fraud "champion" in boxing. He's been gifted two "title belts," fighting limited opponents at home for vacant belts, and lost badly the only time he's actually fought another beltholder, Hugo Garay. No possible way he'd get in the ring with Froch. A talented fighter with no real stomach for top competition.
