Comments Thread For: Rivera: Juanma Very Focused To Bounce Back at 126

Promoter Peter Rivera of Puerto Rico Best Boxing says two division champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (34-4, 31KOs) is looking for a final run at the featherweight limit of 126-pounds. Juanma had moved up to super featherweight and saw himself get blown out in three rounds last month by prospect Francisco Vargas.

Juanma returns to action on the 11th of September at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas against Argentine Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar for the interim title of the World Boxing Association.

JuanMa, for the sake of embarrassment, PLEASE retire already. You used to be one of my favorite fighters but now I cringe every time I watch you fight just waiting for that 1 punch to land on your glass jaw.

        Pa'lante juanma! Dale dale dale!

In all seriousness, I agree, he needs to hang em up. Aside from his glass jaw, he doesn't even punch as sharp anymore, he throws very wide and is left totally vulnerable.

If Juanma finds a way to get a title shot against Jhonny Gonzalez he can become a champ at 126lbs that the only shot he has.

Featherweight division is going to be stacked too bad Juanma fizzled out.

I think that's a bad fight for him, jhonnys too strong for him, don't want to see him take another beating. And it is a shame, great rican fighter and cool as ****. I was fortunate to shoot the **** with him in Culebra.
