Mayura Dissanayake stopped Jaime Garcia in 18 seconds in an amateur welterweight MMA bout at the Bayou City Events Center in Houston. Nicknamed the Karate Clerk, Dissanayake became a cult hero in Houston and his native Sri Lanka last month when he knocked a thug attempting to rob the gas station where Dissayanake worked as a clerk. Security video of the foiled robbery subsequently went viral on the internet.
