Comments Thread For: DeMarco vs. Tyner Early Results From Tecate, Mexico

Former lightweight titlist Antonio DeMarco is in search of his third consecutive win, the latest attempt coming in the lightweight division as he faces veteran Lanardo Tyner. The fight takes place is due to air later this evening on beIN Sports from Campos Deportivos de la Casa Social Cerveceria Tecate in Tecate, Mexico.

The co-feautre ended in bizarre fashion, as Edivaldo Ortega remained unbeaten when Rey Perez failed to answer the bell at the start of round six. [Click Here To Read More]

De marco can make good fights with anyone at 140, but i doubt he beats the divisions elite fighters.

De Marco needs to retire. He is a disgrace for Mexican boxers. Has absolutely no cohones.

I am disappointed because De Marco could have tried to KO Tyner but instead he decided to fight in at a slow pace and allowed Tyner to stay close. It was like if they had agreed on the result of the fight (De Marco winning while Tyner keeping his record of never losing by KO). Tyner was even trying to be a bad comedian and De Marco embraced him few times at the end of rounds. Very weird fight both acting like following one script.

he isn't the Tony that used 2b, & a disappointing effort vs a guy that he should have easily stopped...

DeMarco has no business fighting at welterweight. He can still be a champ at 140 though. I'd like to see him fight Lamont Peterson.

DeMarco looked like **** last night. I don't know how much of that was dealing with a last minute replacement or not. I don't see him having much success at 140 or above, but I still wouldn't mind seeing him against Rios or Provodnikov.

Is it just me or did Tyner look like he was on something? I've seen a lot of goofy ring antics before but his behavior was a bit odd..
