It is a shame that Joe never did this five years ago but he has had his problems with injury and home life, hopefully he can go to the States and put on a couple of good shows, only then will he get the full credit he deserves!

Although before the Lacy fight Marvin Hagler already had Joe as a top six p4p?
The only guy around for Joe to fight 5 years ago was some guy named Ottke, and I think we all know the reasons that the fight never happened.

If he can perform like he did last night, I'd say he has 2 years left in him. The problem for me is that there aren't many fights out there for him. I hear Tarver mentioned, but he's just signed up to fight BHop. Kessler would be a good fight, but Calzaghe has stated he wants to move up to become a 2 weight world champion.

I think we'll see Calzaghe fighting for Clinton Woods' IBF light heavy strap later this year.

I think that is plan, Warren spoke about it last night, hopefully in the summer, Joe is now a natural L/Heavy.

Wow, is the only word I can think of.
I admit I was one of teh Joe bashers. I thought he was a few years to old for this fight. I didn't think he could hold off Lacy. Man, I admit was I wrong.
            Incredible fight by Calzaghe.

I always thought it would be Kessler that would exposed Lacy for the really one dimensional figther he is. Anyway, now I want to see a Calzaghe vs Kessler unification. Don't think it will happen though.

This has shown that Joe is multi dimensional and most of his supporters knew that anyway he can box and brawl just as well, if anything it is Lacy who has been exposed as one dimensional, if someone doesn't stand toe to toe with him what does he do?

As a basic answer to the questions you've brought up.

Lacy was overrated, and I had said this long ago. Saying this, I still believed he'd win the fight however.

On the other hand, Calzaghe hasn't put on a match showing that much skill in as long as I can remember. Calzaghe's best performence makes this match look that much more awful than a usual Calzaghe fight. I hope Calzaghe looks as impressive as he did last fight in his remaining fights before retirement.
