Yea right, Larry. Who would have beaten him if not for holding?

Couple of weeks ago he and his team said they weren't going to 168 and a ward fight wasn't hot right now. There are a few discussion threads here on NSB.

Why would Wards promoter/manager work up an offer for a fight team GGG made clear they won't take

You can't compare Wlad and Ward because Wlad has fought in the US 10+ times

Lemme know when Ward fights 10 times in Germany, Russia, Poland... etc

But in a fair fight with an HONEST referee, matching SKILL against SKILL, I think Gennady Golovkin would knock out the bigger man Andre Ward.
It's possible...the problem with GGG is that his trainer says that they don't prepare for his opponent but rather that they prepare GGG to be the best at everything.

Well, GGG hasn't shown to be great on the inside and hasn't shown that he's able to handle the clinch game.

GGG fights at medium range while Andre fights at close range or long range, and we know Andre dictates where the fight goes. So if Abel is really truthful in what he's saying, that he doesn't prepare GGG for a specific opponent, they will have a frustrating night

              This!

Anybody that believes that GGG would spark a seasoned elite veteran such as ward -- While & or when, GGG hasn't even fought an elite competitor diminishes any hint of credibility behind the statement. And pushes the boundaries of the absurd.

Perhaps when GGG fights better opposition, a more realistic determination can be made.

You are right that we dont know what happens when GGG fights a true elite fighter, but we are also unaware of how Ward deals with fighting away from home.
