Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Says Future is Still Undecided

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) has denied that he's discussing a potential ring return for November. Executives at Zanfer Promotions stated that Marquez was offered two dates, November 15 and November 29, for a planned return in Mexico City, Las Vegas or Los Angeles.

Marquez is still pondering whether or not he intends to continue his career. The 41-year-old boxer was in action in May, when he won a twelve round decision over Mike Alvarado.

Let me translate: Future is Still Undecided = I'm not sure if I can get a WW title fight without random-blood testing & I'm not 100% Memo's PEDs will beat the drug tests.

He should have retired after he iced Pacquiao. What better note to exit the sport with that win.

Whatever you decide to do champ, the people are with you.

          Nothing else to prove.

Retire and leave the PAC hardcores in pain for the rest of their miserable lives.. Lmao!

Or go get that 5th title then retire and leave the PAC hardcores in pain for the rest of their miserable lives.

You gonna cherrypick, rather than face the best opponents.

Brook is not gonna choose you when there's Khan, PAC, Floyd $$$ fights as more desirable. You bring no Title or big $$$ to the table. So wait in line. Just stating the truth.

Might aswell just retire unless he's gonna fight Brook in the UK or stop pricing himself out of the Pacquiao fight.

He should go to 140 and face some contenders there... rather than pick a no-name journeyman at 147.

Abregu, Guerrero, or even a Bradley rematch...would be my suggestions as fights at 147 .

At 140, there's a bunch of guys he could face... Garcia, Herrera, Rios, Provodnikov, etc...

Marquez-Garcia at catchweight 143...since he wants to move up anyways.

I still don't think JMM has done much at 140. I'd like to see him fight legit competition anywhere from 140-147.

Alvarado is a decent fighter and at one point a champ at 140...but the man was coming off a beatdown against Provo. So thus, JMM's win against Mike was a good win,...but not that impressive to me. Ducking Provo just made me hate the fight a bit more.
