Comments Thread For: Photos: Arthur Abraham, Paul Smith Go Face To Face

On September 27 in Kiel, Germany, Arthur Abraham (40-4, 28 KOs) puts his WBO World Super Middleweight title on the line against Paul Smith (35-3, 20 KOs). The champion and challenger came face-to-face for the first time at today’s kick-off press conference at the Sparkassen-Arena.

The champion, ‘’King Arthur’’, is anticipating a British invasion on September 27, with Smith having reportedly already sold 2,000 tickets to his travelling fans. ‘’It’s great that Smith is bringing so many fans to Kiel,’’ said the hard-hitting 34 year-old. ‘’English fans always create a good atmosphere – even when they know their fighter will lose. This will be my fourth fight in Kiel and my fourth victory. Anybody who wants to celebrate with me on September 27 should get their tickets now before they sell out.’’ [Click Here To Read More]

I agree i will also have fun watching it. Im not saying Smith wins, but Abraham is clearly way past his middleweight prime and aging by the minute and is not a top tier elite fighter himself at 168 just a typical paper champion hiding out in Germany milking his WBO title reign untill he calls it a day. Also looking at the faceoff Smith is the bigger man going into this which is interesting.

abraham is an elite fighter cause he has fought everybody, he is a proven warrior at top level, yeah he might not be the best but he has power and when he's mentally on his game can be a handfull unless you can outbox him which only realy froch has done so far, ward smothered him.

At the Spark Azz'n Arena, a boxing match? This is too easy for a comedian. HA

I do hope Arthur doesn't wear earmuffs for 11 rounds then try for a KO in the 12th. He needs to start alot faster than he typically does.

Abraham should take on a top 10 fighter. This is his second fight in a row where they look for an easy opponent that really got no business fighting for a world title. Abraham vs Paul "The Contender" Smith is not an interesting match-up.....unless you're British.

Smith should be able to outbox Abraham.
