Comments Thread For: Hearn: Kell Brook an Obvious Opponent For Mayweather

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is willing to put IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs) in the ring with the best opponents of the welterweight division.

Brook, who won the IBF title last Saturday from Shawn Porter, is being positioned to return on December 6th in Sheffield.

After the hometown defense, Hearn intends to pursue a fight between Brook and domestic rival Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs).

Yeah not really... Brook became a major player in the welter division, but he is still a fringe contender when it comes to landing a Floyd fight

That is a crap fight. Just because brook beat the man who beat Paulie Malignaggi, doesn't make him a top notch fighter. Not saying that Brook might not be a good fighter, but at this point, I am not sure that he is really any better then someone like Chris Algieri.

It's going to have to be next Sept if he plans on fighting Khan in the spring.

Floyd can offer Brook the best deal since he makes the most money.

but If Bob Arum is smart he'll snatch up this deal.

Floyd still has Maidana problems. If he can avenge that defeat he earns consideration for a Pacquiao fight. And for Floyd, that's a problem that he won't be able to fix before his career is over. Brook vs Khan for the real 147 title.

As obvious as Jan Zaveck was when he held that belt.

This fight only happens if Brook beats Khan first. And Mayweather isn't already lined up to fight Pacquiao, as the rumours say.

                    I'm in.

Waiting to see how Mayweather looks next time out. Floyd showed signs of decline in the first Maidana fight, if that happens again then this becomes very interesting....Floyd always had issues with a good jab, if he is slowing down then it will be intriguing.
