Second bold. I don't know. I find it hard to believe that a guy who was excellent vs Canelo just 6 months prior, has lost his legs. The rematch will tell us more about where Floyd is.
The difference is Canelo is the most flat footed fighter in the p4p top 10. Maidana under Garcia has learned ring smarts Canelo hasnt got. Floyd had no choice to be on the ropes because Maidana walked through his shots to get on his chest. When a heavy handed guy is throwing punches from all angles, all Floyd could do was cover up. Floyd made adjustments in the later rounds and be prepared to see that for 12 rounds. Although i think Maidana rocks Floyd in this fight.

after seeing the brook fight for porter, you obviously take mayweather. that said, the style of porter is better suited for brook, who was tall and strong enough to handle porter in the clinches.

if maidana has mayweather on the ropes, it's a good bet that porter gets him there too.

Exactly. Anybody that thinks Floyd would make easy work out of Porter DKSAB and is severely overrating Mayweather.

when ward's ou tthere turning ooponents into human pretzles, and beating on them with the free hand [no ****,] celebrate it.
You know best -- as biggest Ward's fan around here. At least Ward is only clinching as long as necessary, then he performs rough house inside boxing or stays in the distance... Ward changes styles with ease...

            Floyd has no power

It would be similar to the Porter vs Malinaggi fight

              Overrating Mayweather?

Are you serious? The guy who made easy work of Mosley, Canelo, Ortiz, Cotto, Marquez etc all in his 30s?

You said that about the Brook fight too.

i also want to add that i'm allowing brits to enjoy their win. brook is a good fighter, and he pulled off a great win. i'm not going to mention yet that you're all now fans of the andre ward style of boxing, because that MFER brook freaking clinches.

next time ward is out, celebrate him. he does what brook did on a much higher level, and he's a less prolific clincher. brook tied a man up and walked him to the ropes, hoping for a break. ward walks a man to the ropes with the intent to work. there's a difference. i'm not saying that i flag eithe rman for it, i just want to make sure it is recognized.

in time, i'll address it furhter. as i've said, i do want the brits to enjoy their win. they don't get them too often on this level.
I will disagree regarding Floyd/shawn for one reason.

I think Floyd went to the ropes on purpose because he realized Maidana was very effective in the center of the ring. His overhand shots and his counters were surprisingly effective. Floyd really had no other option.

I don't know if Porter would be as effective as Maidan was in the center of the ring. He didn't appear to have much boxing skill and his corner didn't provide much instruction.

And add to that Maidana punches a lot harder than Porter, which is of course a must have if you're trying to do good work when you have a fighter against the ropes.
