Comments Thread For: Tony Thompson-Odlanier Solis Rematch Deal Reached

2004 Olympic gold medalist Odlanier Solis will get a "last chance" to work his way back to the top of the world rankings. The Cuban defector who suffered a bad knee injury in the first round of his WBC heavyweight championship bout against Vitali Klitschko in March 2011 lost to US ring veteran Tony "The Tiger" Thompson in his last bout in March 2014. Many fans and experts thought that former amateur standout Solis was done after the majority decision loss. But now the 34-year-old wants revenge and will try to get back at Thompson in an October rematch. [Click Here To Read More]

Unless Solis comes in at 220 to 225lbs he can forget about it.

I never count out Thompson anymore but if solis loses again he can pretty much say so long to ever getting another title fight. he has to win or he is done...

Done with Solis. His time if you can call it that, came and went. And everyone is more interested in Luis Ortiz, a fighter who does something foreign to Solis, he comes in shape for a fight, in fact all of them. What a bizarre concept to Solis; coming in shape for a fight.

Thats to light. I think around 235 pounds would be great for him.
But i doubt he will ever get in that Kind of shape. You can stick a fork in Solis. His style is also not verry suited for a pro. He was a great Amateur but even in shape he would still have some flaws to get problems against good opponents.

The only way solis wins is if thompson comes dressed as a donut or a cheeseburger. What a waste of talent! He might take competitive eating, he'll do great there.
