This is what I was thinking.

That's how purse bids work. Quillin is going to get a nice payday.

Haven't you said in the past that Al Haymon is Illuminati as well?

"We're going to promote our first event by the end of the year, and we're currently strategizing on which fighters we will seek to sign," - David Itskowitch, Roc Nation COO

Roc Nation Sports, the agency founded by music superstar Jay Z in April 2013, quickly made its mark in athlete representation and now plans to bring its muscle to boxing as a promoter.

You guys are spot on. They were simply dead set on hosting a high level boxing event in 2014. My guess is they didn't want to let a world title fight slip through their fingers so they overpaid to ensure the win.

Don't forget that Jay-Z's wife Beyonce sued Al Haymon because he tried to steal money from her when he was in the entertainment and concert business so i don't think they're aligned.

Now Roc Nation has to look for a big fight to put this fight in the undercard.

As promoters, Roc Nation will be looking to sign fighters, many of which are going to be signed with Al Haymon as their advisor. Will Jay Z be stepping on Haymon's feet or are they going to get along?

I know he's not said to get on with him but this bid just feels like it has Haymon's fingerprints all over it.

I don't think GBP and Top Rank were going to bid much for this fight. Quillin just secured a huge payday for a title fight he'll probably lose, it just screams Haymon.
