In a stunning turn of events, Roc Nation Sports, the sports management company founded by rapper Jay Z, blew away the competition at today's WBO purse bid for Peter Quillin's mandatory defense against Matt Korobov.

Former Golden Boy executive David Itskowitch, now working with Roc Nation, was present on behalf of their company, which is eager to make a dent in the boxing promotional business.

Rigo isnt gonna be no star so he might as well get with Jay and see what happens. None of those guys at GBP (LSC) dont want to fight him so what's the point of signing with GB?

they're just going to inflate the price of fights if they keep paying that much for them.

that's a lot of money for an awful fight.

So how will this turn out? Will Top Rank and or Golden Boy still be promoting this fight?

If those are the only two dates, then it's the !8th in dc. Barclaebalready got some maid show the eighth and Hopkins/kovalev the first in Barclays as well as fonfara and tomoki in uic. They could move it, but it's one of the biggest fights this year

I think it's more of a business move, being this is their first time getting into boxing.

I'm surprised others don't occasionally snag purse bids more often.
