Well Hopkins' 20 defenses sure got a lot of credit, but he sure as hell didnt fight anybody. He was at the top of the P4P list. You can put Joe where you want to. P4P lists are pure opinion. but everyone needs to say "i RESPECT Joe Calzaghe". he SHUT Lacy out. The only point Joe lost was due to a point deduction.

Calzaghe definitely deserves mad respect. But no way he's P4P #3. You can't even make an argument PRO that. No way.

        I respect Joe Calzaghe.

But we all knew (some did, who weren't nuthuggers) that Lacy had flaws and he could lose. Turns out Lacy lost very badly. Lacy was not a top 10 p4p before this fight so Joe does not deserve to be top 5.

        Period.

But Joe is 8-10. Good win for him. I said whoever won this fight deserved to break into the p4p list.

But yes, these lists are pure opinion. But we need to base them off of facts.

Mate I've been reading your posts for about 6 months now, and I think you predicted a very early impressive Lacy stoppage. Maybe you wouldn't have put him in your top ten, but I'm pretty confident you would have.

I bet cash on lacy to win, but Calzaghe schooled the nexy big American fighter and is in the p4p top ten, end of story.

yea, I picked Lacy to stop Calzaghe early. DEAD WRONG. But some Calzaghe fans are gettin carried away. HE DOESNT BELONG in P4P list. At least for now.

IMO, he is top ten, but not top 3, and I am from England and was thoroughly impressed with his performance tonight, winning every single round by "slapping" against the "next Tyson".

I wasnt a Calzaghe fan before, but now I am simply because he entertained me tonight and for me, thats all it takes to be a fan.

Are you talking to me? Surely you're not. I picked Lacy to tko Joe late. It's in my sig. I said before the fight Joe could win as well. I also JUST said that Joe deserves top ten p4p, NOT top 5, that's all.

opinion taken, but ma view remains. You don't become a highly regarded P4P fighta in 1 fight UNLESS you beat someone of really high caliber. Example: Pacquiao taking out a then was P4P#3 Barrera in 11 rounds to be automatic placed P4P #5 in many peoles' eyes.(though Pac had good wins prior).

......Just a couple of observations from this fight. Calzaghe deserves to be mentioned in the P4P rankings. Not sure where he belongs but he definitely belongs in the top ten. Was Lacy overated and Joe underated? Probably a little of both. How can anyone dislike Lacy the person, with his comments and demeanor after the fight. Both of those guys were class acts leading up to the fight, during the fight, and after the fight. Lacy is a very level and centered kid and that mentality will help him come back from this loss. He knows that he needs to work on his boxing skills and he said so. Calzaghe needs to get some respect from the American fans now and I was very impressed with the guy. Having never seen him fight, but hearing all about his hand speed, but then his injuries, his possibly being out of his prime, etc. etc. I wasn't sure what we would get. I left being very impressed with the way he handled himself and his veteran skills. All in all I was kind of in shock at what transpired as I figured Lacy would knock out his man in the later rounds. Hats off to Joe, and hats off to all the Calzaghe fans who said he was the real deal all along.

well manny_p I think he does belong in that list at 8-10, but maybe we value different things in fighters. I wouldn't have corrales or castillo in my top ten, nor any lights/cruisers. willl work up my top ten to see what you think.
