Comments Thread For: Charr Returns 10/23 in Moscow: Perez, Solis Mentioned

According to sources in Germany and Russia, WBC #15 rated contender Manuel Charr (26-2, 15 KOs) will start his comeback after the latest kayo loss to Alexander Povetkin on the same card with his offender. Charr is expected to be a part of the Alexander Povetkin vs. Carlos Takam undercard, the event taking its place on Oct. 24 in Moscow, Russia.

Several names have been mentioned for the fighter, whose only losses came to Povetkin and Vitali Klitschko in 2012 WBC heavyweight title challenge. Among them are Cubans: WBC #13 Odlanier Solis (20-2, 13 KOs) and WBC #3, WBO #9 and IBF #12 rated Mike Perez (20-1-1, 12 KOs). Another (slim) possibility is Pole Tomasz Adamek, but the latter is tentatively set to fight his countryman Artur Szpilka in an epic all-Polish encounter on November 8.

Perez and Solis coming off losses to face Charr ? Some how I don't see that, way too dangerous fight for them both.an in shape and motivated Solis and Perez give most of the division nightmares but I don't see either shedding excess weight or finding any form of motivation any time soon.wasted talents,if both had the heart and determination of Charr and Takam coupled with their own skillset, they would be bigger forces than Povetkin in the division.

I though solis would've hanged them up after his loss. The guy is such a waste of talent. Shame really

looks like a solid card... it's on my 40th B-day so I will have to wait until I get home from Cuba to watch it. maybe I can pick it up there if solis or perez is fighting...

if solis and perez weren't in shape or motivated when they were undefeated contenders what makes you think they will be now. they are in the phase of their career which i call the "show up, look fat, get money" phase. obv charr is crap so even showing up like a biggest loser contestant might be enough to get a victory.

Imagine how much fatter he'd be if he if he didn't make his annual token effort at a training camp.
