    Chances of Porter Thurman?

Assuming Porter handles business tonight, what do you think, realistically, are the chances of Porter Thurman happening within the next year? Really hope they don't marinate this one. It is a meaningful fight now, and down the road it could be a meaningful fight again, regardless of who wins and loses.

Thurman vs Porter has that Swift vs the Machine hype.

I hope Al Haymon does make this fight.

I hope they put on a Mayweather undercard as the co feat for May 2015.

It won't happen anytime soon. Haymon has Thurman hostage for a reason, he doesn't really want to put him in with his top guys because he is a threat and he holds him hostage because he doesn't want another promoter to make him a star.

So he basically holds him hostage and will put him in Karass and Chaves type fighters.

If I were Thurman I would have jumped ship to Top Rank and HBO long ago, the moment he signs with Top Rank we all know Arum will throw him in with either Bradley, Rios or Pacquiao so he is getting a shot at a big name guy off the bat. Same way Arum threw Bradley in with Pacquiao fast. And even fixed the fight so Bradley could win, hoping it would help him tap into the urban market but it backfired because people hated Bradley instead of loving him after that robbery.

If Thurman was on HBO he would at least be a bigger star and become one of the faces of the channel, they could build him up with the same type of opponents he is already fighting but at least he will get exposure and will be invested in unlike now he is being wasted away in his prime years by Haymon and Showtime. its a shame really.

That fight will help wipe away the stench, that is this year's boxing. But chances are slim...

Boxing can't handle this much awesome.

It's why they don't make these fights.

I would love to see them fight now while they are young and up and coming, and hopefully again later, after having successful careers. I really feel this is a win-win situation for both. Unfortunately, the 0 is so coveted it makes tantalizing match ups like this unlikely.

I don't think Porter's team want the fight. They've said a few times that it would be a good fight in the future. Kenny Porter knows Thurman is the truth, he's always praising him.

It's the fight I'd most like to see in boxing atm.
