Peter Quillin is actually a great comparison. Poor guy must be the most hated boxer on NSB. Nobody respects him here (not that it matters), yet since he's a world champion, he has never fought somebody as weak as Manuel Roman (on paper). Quillin's resume at 160 = Santa Cruz's resume at 122. Obvious double standards. Why do you even bother?

Santa Cruz may be ducking the best competition out there right now but honestly, who wants to see anybody decent fight Rigondeaux? Yes, I agree he has superb technical skills and excellent defensive abilities but he's boring as hell. Boxing is supposed to be an exciting sport, not bore you to sleep with constant evasive movements and backpedaling. Yes this is a skill and it is all about hitting and not getting hit but Rigondeaux's style is an extreme example of that. His last fight against Kokietgym was a joke and doesn't prove he can be exciting against the best competition. A headbutt followed by a cheap shot doesn't prove anything. Kokietgym should have protected himself at all times but Rigondeaux won't get the opportunity to do that against better opponents. He has never knocked out an elite level opponent. Furthermore, he has the personality of a rock and always looks like a sourpuss. That lack of charisma won't get him far with U.S. audiences. Boxers like Broner may be annoying ******s but at least they are amusing at times. People used to complain that Ali was too evasive but he also had true knockout power and a larger than life personality. Rigondeaux has evasiveness and that's it.
