Lopez wasn't ranked 77th of the welterweight division and canelo didn't bring him up to 156

Yeah he beat Ortiz but everything about that fight was inexcusable.

It was bullying at its purest form.
Noway was it as bad, Lopez was somewhat accomplished, had a decent record, some pop and was coming off a career best win.

With salka, even the most ardent boxing fan would find it difficult coming up with a list of his greatest hits

Lol, Canelo was fighting the winner of Ortiz vs Josesito. Josesito broke Ortiz's jaw and ended the fight. Mayweather couldn't even do that with two free shots. Lopez earned his payday. I still didn't like it,but was happy for Lopez, underdog finally getting a good shot with a spectacular win.

What i want to know is.... Who's Jaw did "Lightning Rod" Salka break?

well, even though lopez was brought up
2 weightclasses, he beat ortiz, who was
              positioned to fight against canelo.

he also beat mike dallas jr who was an
              unbeaten prospect at that time.
On a good day josesito lopez can be considered
lower top 10 in his respective weightclass.

rod salka on the other hand didnt beat
anyone of note, lost three times against
below average opponents and only had
              three knockouts.

also, garcia is THE champ at 140 for winning
              against lucas matthysse.
THE champ at any weight class should always
fight against the best available opponent.

It was not even close to being as bad and only a real Canelo hater would say it was. Salka was unranked and unknown going into the Garcia fight. Salka was ranked 68th at lightweight. Lopez had just knocked out high ranked welterweight Victor Ortiz who was set to be Canelo's next opponent. The KO of Ortiz earned Lopez a world ranking of 8 at welterweight. So you had a top 10 world ranked welterweight going up to 154 to fight Canelo compared to the number 68th ranked lightweight Salka going up to 142 to fight Garcia. How in the hell can a champion fighting a fighter who is the 8th best fighter in his weight class be just as bad as a champion fighting a fighter who is the 68th best fighter in his weight class?????

i dislike canelo a lot, but lopez was farrrrr better than salka and was coming off a notable win against ortiz.

Lopez upset the applecart against Ortiz at 147. That's a hell of a lot more than Salka ever did.

Not a good fight, but not even close to Garcia/Salka.
