Former World Boxing Council flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro is sparring with IBF flyweight champion and former Olympian Amnat Ruenroeng in Thailand in preparation for his crack at the super flyweight title when he battles undefeated champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras on September 20 in Mexico.
The 25 year old Cuadras who won the title with an 8th round technical decision over Thailand’s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai last May 31 will be making the first defense of his title against the hard-hitting Jaro, one of the protégés of manager, trainer Aljoe Jaro.
The WBC reports that Cuadras “is primed to defend his world title for the first time” against Sonny Boy Jaro at a venue to be determined.
