Some of the most interesting and talked about action in the Heavyweight division has come from outside the ring as Shannon Briggs has been pestering unified champion Wladimir Klitschko for several weeks, attempting to secure a title fight. From disrupting his training camp to recently going as far as eating Wladimir’s food while out dining, Briggs has definitely taking things to another level.

Heavyweight contender and knockout artist Deontay Wilder spoke to BoxingScene and was asked to comment on the current Briggs-Klitschko situation. Despite Briggs going to great lengths to try to secure a world title fight, Wilder feels Klitschko should not give him the opportunity.

Wilder is right that Briggs is just trolling for a big pay day and doesn't deserve anything close to a title fight based on his recent performances and choice of lackluster opponents but isn't Wilder making himself a bit of a hypocrite? He talks about rising up the ranks and fighting contenders to get a chance at a title but is this the path Wilder has taken? His KOs are taking priority as the basis of his rankings and upcoming title fight but they are against all non-ranked opponents!

Yea but Briggs has already gotten a number of title shots he didn't deserve. I think its time he gracefully bowed out and stopped embarrassing the sport like he is.
