Comments Thread For: Groves Backs Dirrell To Unseat Bika, Targets Him

Super middleweight contender George Groves (19-2, 15KOs) is backing Anthony Dirrell (26-0-1, 22KOs) to defeat Sakio Bika (32-5-3, 21KOs) for the WBC championship on Saturday night at the StubHub in Carson, California.

Groves is targeting a shot at the WBC title. On September 20th at Wembley Arena he will go for the WBC's vacant silver crown against Christopher Rebrasse.

Bika and Dirrell fought to a disputed draw last December. Both boxers believe they deserved the decision.

You'll probably have to sign with Al Haymon to land that fight Georgie.

Anthony Dirrell vs George Groves would actually be a pretty good fight.

Assuming that Dirrell gets past Bika of course. Which isn't guaranteed.

The scorpion lies down for no man. There's no guarantee Dirrell will win this fight. If it was Andre maybe you could say. As for Groves preferring Dirrell it's understandble. Sakio can beat you up regardless of who you are and whether you get the decision or not. You will have to work for your money.

Groves has no chance of even being competitive in a fight with Dirrell.
