I like Thurman and i would be rooting for him if the fight ever happen but Devon style would give him problems. Thurman can punch but i think he can't do what Porter did, he doesn't have the stamina to outwork Devon, who btw has a great chin.

I dunno man, he took a pretty heavy hit from Karass and came back and hurt him in the same round. A bit of bravado but he didnt seem panicked. Plus when he was getting pressed by Diaz with lots of heavy punches he was fighting really well with counters moving backwards. These obviously aren't elite fighters though so I really can't wait to see what the top fighters bring out of him.Comment

I know Alexander will fight anyone. However, the most protected fighter in and around the welterweight division, Keith Thurman, will fight another bum that no one has ever heard of in his next fight just as Guerrero and Garcia did in their last fights.I***39;ll fight anybody it don***39;t matter. All these guys keep fighting bum after bum. I***39;ll fight Thurman Khan Guerrero it doesn***39;t matter.

How is he protected? Devon is the only top 10 guy at 147 who has said he's willing to fight Thurman.
Maidana pulled out of a fight with Thurman, Porter's dad said he doesn't want it yet, Guerrero has made numerous excuses, Pauli didn't want it.
So how exactly is he protected you
? Guys are publicly saying they don't want to fight him...

I'd favor Devon.
Sure you are gonna look like a young George Foreman against the guys Thurman has been fighting.
Alexander probably has the most proven chin from 140-147 and has fought arguably the most touted punchers without being stopped, and in most cases dropped.
Wins over big punchers Maidana, Matthyssee, Bailey, Urango
Devon has one of the best resumes between 140 and 147 and would be a huge step up for Thurman.
Keith has decent fundamentals but he punches wide and his defense isn't impregnable. If Alexander came in with the right game plan he could possibly outclass Thurman who banks on blasting guys out. With Alexander's movement, speed, counters, and beard, I'd favor him over Thurman. Thurman is a puncher and aggressive but he isn't rough like Porter, Bradley, or even Karass, he needs a little space to land his shots and a fight at mid range favors Alexander.Comment

Don't know about that. I've yet to see Thurman gas out or get tired in anyway.
Thurman actually has pretty good defense, especially with slip ins.
I really don't know what Devon has to truly trouble Thurman. Sure, I give him the edge in speed but Thurman has decent hand speed too so he'll likely catch Devon. The next part after that is how well Devon would take it? After all, this will be against one of the hardest hitters in the division. One punch could make a big difference.
I also notice Devon tends to lose it mentally. In the Bradley and Porter fights, you can tell he really seemed like he was in a panic and wanted to give up (in which he clearly did against Bradley). Against Soto Karass, despite winning, it almost seemed like Devon still started panicking because Soto Karass just kept on coming forward. If he's not mentally prepared for when he faces Thurman, he's going to lose it the moment he gets hit.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 08-13-2014, 10:36 PM.Comment
