Former World Boxing Council flyweight champion Sonny Boy Jaro will get another crack at a world title, this time in the super flyweight division when he battles undefeated champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras on September 20 in Mexico.
The 25 year old Cuadras who won the title with an 8th round technical decision over Thailand’s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai last May 31 will be making the first defense of his title against the hard-hitting Jaro, one of the protégés of manager, trainer Aljoe Jaro.
At the time of the stoppage following a clash of heads which worsened a nasty cut over the let eyebrow of Cuadras which started with an accidental head-butt in the 4th round, referee Jay Nady called a halt on the advice of the ring doctor.
