Judging by the time it took for light heavyweight prospect Marcus Browne to overwhelm Paul Vasquez, the 2012 Olympian didn’t have much of a challenge in front of him on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“We knew he wasn’t supposed to be in there with us, so we went in there and took him out, did what we had to do, took care of the job, and on to the next one,” Browne said after the technical knockout win, which came just 28 seconds into the opening round.
Browne, a 23-year-old from the New York City borough of Staten Island, moved to 12-0 with 9 KOs. Vasquez, 36, of Martinez, California, fell to 10-6-1 with 3 KOs.
