Comments Thread For: Adrien Broner Open To Idea of Facing Danny Garcia

Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (28-1, 22KOs) says he is open to the idea of fighting WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (29-0, 17KOs).

Broner was ringside on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as Garcia destroyed Rod Salka in two rounds.

The once-beaten Broner has captured titles at 130, 135 and 147. His goal is to capture a belt at junior welterweight. Despite being good friends with Garcia, Broner would entertain the fight if the right money is on the table.

      Garcia moves up to 147.

Broner gets a shot at somebody for the vacant titles. Probably Matthysse or Herrera who are both very difficult fights for him.

Actually this is a very plausible scenario.

lol Garcia would destroy Broner. Garcia has an iron chin so anything Broner throws at him won't do ****.

I don't see Broner having an easy path to a belt in this weight class.

              WBC: Matthysse is #1 contender
WBA: Postol is reg. champ, Vargas is interim
IBF: Peterson (may vacate and move up)
              WBO: Algieri

I think Broner struggles against all of those fighters.

Agree, with the caveat that it Depends which Broner we get.

If he tries to be Floyd 2.0, yes he will because he lacks the speed, defense and boxing IQ.

Now lets say he tries to be more like Livingstone Bramble (maybe need a fresher reference)2.0 and fights in a way that takes advantage of his skills?

But its broner so he's probably going to talk a lot o ****, shoot a rap video, make a ****** ****, and not take the fight seriously.

Man I would really really really hate for these two to fight.

Both are the future and I don't want to see them have to duke it out when they could rather rally each other while remaining a weight class apart. But if I really had to choose, I think Danny would take it in a razor thin decision.
