On Showtime draining their budget for other decent fights they could make? Danny is at most fighting 3 times this year... and he might not even make that if HBO grabs every single date in November and December

For the most part a list of nobodies....didn't see that much anger towards them.
Not all wins are created equal...

Danny Garcia is the WBC,WBA and Ring champion and he picked someone from a lower weight class that was very low ranked...

It was as bad as it gets.

But at this point in Garcia's career, where he is officially an undefeated champion, why fight a clearly smaller, less talented fighter? The reason is because a legitimate challenger in Herrera whipped Garcia's ass, so he wanted to look dominant in his next fight. If a champion wins a tough fight, but makes his next fight with a tomato can, he can expect criticism. In this case, the criticism is especially warranted, because Peterson also fought a tomato can, instead of Garcia (whom he should have fought). Both were made to look good in these non-competitive fights. Now their next fight is presumably against each other, on PPV to boot. Neither are PPV stars, so they'll have to fight on a real star's undercard. This is how Haymon gets his fighters big money with little risk. Good for the fighters, bad for the fans.

i think a lot of the animosity has to do with Herrera getting robbed the way he did . I agree Garcia deserved a tune up , it just should have been against someone who was ranked

Herrera was the tuneup. It was his coming home to Puerto Rico fight. He lost it so he had to take another even softer touch. Shameful matchmaking.

Don't even try to compare the career of Danny Garcia with Chavez Sr. Yes, Chavez fought unranked and inferior opponents but he also fought ALL THE TIME. Garcia had nowhere near the amount of fights Chavez had at 26 years old nor will he ever get anywhere near the amount of career fights and wins Chavez amassed throughout his life as a pro boxer. Chavez was 60-0 by the time he was 26 and had fought and beaten Ruben Castillo, Roger Mayweather, Rocky Lockridge, Juan Laporte, Edwin Rosario plus 55 other boxers.
