If García wanted to take an easy fight, a tune up fight, it'd be acceptable, he's earned it. BUT, he crossed the line with this one. An unranked fighter? A lightweight? Really? And yet they had the nerve to tell us that it was going to be an epic fight etc etc etc.. I hope this whole things backfires to them BAD! Brutally bad, because this was an insult to the sport and the fans.

I have a problem with the headline of this story. That slanted language in the favor of Garcia shouldn't be permitted. The place for that is in editorial pieces, and this story was not one.

I know boxing is increasingly becoming a niche sport, but that doesn't excuse poor instances in its journalism. Several of those instances which I've noticed frequently in recent weeks on this site.

I completely agree. I've been following this site for a few years, but only recently started commenting here and there in the threads. The quality of articles has diminished drastically since I first visited, but especially over the last few months.

I don't think the problem is necessarily with Danny as a fighter. The problem is with the double speak; the problem is with them trying so hard to convince us that THIS fight should mean something to anyone. This is no feather in Danny's cap. Danny is a really, really good fighter. Maybe even a great fighter. But he lost some stock, even if only minimal stock, as a result of this fight.

Theres Marquez, Provonikov, Algerie, just to name a few. He may have cleaned out Haymon fighters. Give credit where it's due even though Danny beat a non-ranked, feather-fisted (3KOs) lightweight late bloomer.

Fans these days will justify any bullshhh that wins the argument for them...every fighter gets presented options...he is the talent afterall. Al Hayon, Bob Arum, Oscar, Dibella, Duva cannot force a fighter to fight who he does not want to fight....I'm sorry but enough of the nonsense of assigning blame to everyone else. It's time both fans and fighters man the fk up and stop hiding behind "Promoters" and "Politics". There are 14 other guys at 140 not named Garcia to pick from...any one of those would have been sufficient and accepted. Also the racist tones that Angel has been showcasing the last like 18 months needs to start being called out..he's been ****t*ng with his mouth entirely too much lately. We haven't forgotten how many times he screamed the "N"word at Judah and his family. Time to sit that old tecato down in a seat somewhere.
