Auditorio Jose Maria Arteaga, Queretaro, Mexico - WBC Silver super bantamweight champion Andres “Jaguar” Gutierrez (30-0-1, 22 KOs) dominated for twelve round to easily retain his title with a unanimous decision victory over Mario “Huracan” Macias (26-13, 13 KOs). The scores were 118-109, 116-111 and 117-110. Gutierrez, promoted by Canelo Promotions of Mexico, is the top rated contender to the full WBC championship currently held by another Mexican fighter, undefeated Leo Santa Cruz.

There's some good matchups to be made at 122 under the W.B.C. rankings.

    1. Andres Gutierrez
    2. Hugo Ruiz
    3. Victor Terrazas
    4. Rey Vargas
    5. Shingo Wake
    6. Cesar Seda

I'd like to see Gutierrez vs. Ruiz, Terrazas vs. Seda, and Vargas vs. Wake. And line the winners up for Leo Santa Cruz.

I think Santa Cruz vs. youngsters like Gutierrez and Vargas have the potential to be All-Mexican classics like Morales vs. Barrera and Marquez vs. Vazquez

Macias is a C+ guy who fecked Andres who has done nothing special in his past 2 bouts. I say he fights Rey Vargas, who fights later this month, he loses...
