Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Stops Fletcher in Five, Wins WBA Gold

Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - In a fight for the vacant WBA 'regular' middleweight title, Daniel Jacobs (28-1, 25KOs) stopped Jarrod Fletcher (18-2, 10KOs) in the fifth round. An exchange of punches in the first round saw Fletcher get decked in the second minute. Feltcher made it up and took a beating until the close of the round. Fletcher, although still losing, was able to regroup in the second round. Feltcher was rocked again in the fourth, but fought his way out of trouble. During the fifth, Fletcher was doing well but then he was hurt bad and battered against the ropes until the referee jumped in as Fletcher went down again.

Props to Daniel!!! He went wayyyyy off the script in his post fight interview.

      Jim:Who do you want next?

Danny: I want kid chocolate here in brooklyn!! The fans deserve it.

Sam Watson's eyes damn near popped out of his head...the look on his face said it all.....LMAO.

Looked pretty good against a questionable opponent. I think he needs to get at his conditioning first before calling out world champions, even if they're Paper Quillin, he slowed down a bit already

The only concern I had with him was that it looked like he punched himself out early and then took rounds 2 and 3 off.

But I was impressed overall because Fletcher is a tough fighter and Jacobs really put it on him in rounds 4 and 5. The combinations were quick and powerful.

A fight with Quillin would be a big fight.

Good performance for Jacobs, blowing out a guy like fletcher proves that Jacobs is at least a contender for one of the champs at mw..

Jacobs vs quillen, Stevens, Taylor, Murray, should be made in the near future

I hope the WBO strip Quillin if they decide to unify like they did with Pirog
