Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Pumped About Fighting in Manchester

Anthony Joshua MBE says he cannot wait to fight at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on September 13, live on Sky Sports.

The Olympic Heavyweight sensation was set to fight on the Dublin bill on August 30, but after that was postponed, the Manchester fight fans now benefit with Joshua fighting in the city for the first time as a pro.

Anybody else think this kid can knockout anybody they put in front of him, and think, right now?

Forget the Furys, Prices, and Wilders.

    I think he is legit.

The HW division is so shit right now, throw him in with the "wolves".

Experience is part of the game, but how many gawdamn shit fights, pullouts, do we have to endure?

People are starving for new blood in this division.

I'm ranting, but it's my two pennies.

(Watch Johsua get sparked in his next fight.)

I say give him a few more to settle in. He was taking some shots from a guy he shouldn't have been taking...but then obliterated him

Him, Deontay Wilder, and Joseph Parker look to be the future of the heavyweight division.

I agree, I'm still not sold on Wilder's powerhype though, I certainly think it would be a blockbuster between Joshua and Parker though!

With the right training and match making Joshua can certainly become a very good heavyweight.

Problem is with heavyweights these days, people are crying out for an entertaining heavyweight so much they want to push it too quick. Joshua is only a baby in the sport who's been fighting for 4-5 years altogether, people have to realize that.

In 2015, I could see him fight for the lonsdale belt and then slowly but surely make his way to world level in 2-3 years.

There's a new era coming in heavyweight boxing, and it's very exciting. Some of the current duds need to move on and in the future there's a very exciting mix with Ruiz, Joshua, Furys, Wilder, Jennings, Povetkin, Whyte etc ready to take over.

Joshua could take the mantle, but so could a few others. I still think Hughie Fury is the most naturally gifted heavyweight out of all the new young ones coming through.

I reckon late 20's Josh will come into his own (unless his chin is glass, in which case he could anywhere or nowhere by then)

Sorry to put a dampener on your hopes Pea! He's still so raw

He doesn't have a great chin, so he needs a 6-7 more fights before 'stepping up'. If he can continue to work on his footwork and guard, he will be very promising
