  • Comments Thread For: Kell Brook: Expect Fireworks, Fight of The Year Candidate

British welterweight contender Kell Brook (32-0) is prepared to make it a dogfight next Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. A career defining opportunity is on the table against IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0).

In his last fight, Porter blew away the usually durable Paulie Malignaggi in four rounds. Brook knocked out his last four opponents. The fight who calls himself "The Special One" is anticipating a war of wills with many power punch exchanges.

All I'm saying is that Porter had better watch out for that "chocolate brownie" of a right hand that Special Kell possesses...

....for Max 8 rnds. Then Brook is out of there. HE IS A NOBODY. Where do you guys get this deluded opinion? Groves was "somebody." Burns was "somebody." I mean come on.

I think Porter will be fine for the chocolate brownie (haha). Senchenko buzzed Brook with a jab, Porter will stop him imo.

One of the dude's from ThaBoxingVoice said he had Porter by 4th round KO. Then he saw both of them train and do mitts in Vegas this week and he said he had to adjust his pick to a 1st round KO lmao.

He also said Porter is the most impressive fighter he's EVER seen train. Including Mayweather... Take that for what you will. I got Porter via KO/destruction. I still cant believe how he walked through Alexander like it was absolutely nothing.

Alexander can only fight at range and Paulie hits like a little girl. So what else have you got? Porter's clearly pretty good, but it's waaayyyy too early for you to worship him. Brook is a bigger challenge that either of those two.

I watched video of kell train and it was not convincing, but maybe he fights harder than he trains. I've seen greats work the bags, put on a show. Roberto Duran was amazing on a speed bag, big punchers can knock them off. Joe Frazier on the big bag with James Brown in the background, a show. Sugar Ray 1 and 2 could jump rope at blazing speeds, make you feel sorry for the other guy. Not Kell.
