    Never happen

Garcias fragile psyche is on the line. He was embarrassed by Herrera. He is fighting a NOBODY. He is afraid of anyone in the top. I bet Adrien Groaner would beat him senseless.

Peterson/Garcia could have been made easily. I think that it wasn't made because Garcia is gun-shy after his performance against Herrera and Haymon wanted to make as much money as possible before risking putting Garcia in a fight he might lose.

That plan has worked for Keith Thurman for the last two years. Thurman is the guy who has never fought a B-class opponent, but is greatly feared by the A-class opponents, according to the buzz on this message board. Why should Haymon change something that is working well?

EXACTLY What I Thought; After Garcia's Near Death Experience In PR, Head Not Right!

This was all about taking NO CHANCES with any risk whatsoever for Garcia; his head is messed up after the surprising beatdown he took at home in Puerto Rico! Haymon is just protecting his gravy train. This SHOULD have been a big weekend for Boxing with Garcia and Peterson unifying at 140. Instead it's Boxing Promotion Malpractice. We see toooo much of this positioning and protecting their fighters, and yet they call it... "This is a business!!!" Which means: we're seeking to stay at the top, as long as we can, taking on as little risk as possible, for the safest routes to the bank; it's not about fighting the best of the best. Garcia's head is all Phukked up after his train wreck.... This is the easiest $750K they'll ever make. Even Peterson is embarrassed by it. Funny how Garcia was quoted as saying what a war Matthysse-Ortiz will be. Someone should have asked Danny, "is that scary to think about? Should we leave the lights on Danny while you go to the bathroom to do Number 2"? LOL!!! Garcia may never be the same and end up like Khan, in every time you're hit flush, you hit the canvas.

Now We See Why Garcia Was In NO Hurry To Fight Provodnikov!

Garcia is in trouble. Who can they possibly line him up against after he takes some Alka Salka for his nervous tummy tum tum? They won't let him take another tomato can. I think his head is so messed up, he can't beat a list of contenders: Provo, Peterson, Maidana, Thurman, Guerrero, Porter... Just to name a few at 147 Garcia won't do well against. Everyone will play the Khan card from 2010, and talk about everyone Garcia has beaten in the past. The problem is, it's obvious Garcia's camp knows there's a mental/courage problem with Danny since the last fight. No doubt they've been seeing it in camp. They hear it in their conversations. They all internally know he's not the same guy now, and they are being ultra careful and don't care what the public or media say. Bad timing for Garcia because '47 will get a lot more scary; they hit much harder, show up much larger on fight night than at '40. That's why Khan won't fight any '47 contenders. Garcia, like Khan, are in trouble. BOTH are one fight with a contender, from getting knocked cold.

Took "The Machine's" best shot flush, ate it and whooped him, in a fight he didn't really have to take ... Could've waited till Lucas won a belt and now the kid is scared of ... Peterson ?

I don't care what happened in the Hererra fight or who he's fighting now Garcia has "stepped up"multiple times against guys he should've lost to.

****** explanation! Lol!!! Nobody cares who he stepped up against in the past. You're measured by your last fight in the ring clown, and the beatdown he took to Herrera at home in Puerto Rico in a fight he thought he'd have no problem with, his head is messed up by as much, and Haymon is protecting that! Nobody takes the so-called P4P 140 Champion and aligns him up with a Rod Salka on the heels of Peterson's win, calling out Garcia to unify next. Same manager/promoter, both fight on SHO. Oscar couldn't explain it and deferred to Haymon, "the Peterson fight couldn't get done". THEY know Garcia is not right, the the same fighter as before Herrera, and they are taking NO risk with their gravy train right now. Prior to Herrera, they were talking about Garcia like he was on a level with Floyd & Manny. Garcia was talking about himself 3rd person like he's a global brand. He's not that fighter right now, and it's hush hush internally. They know that Garcia today would not do well with Peterson or any other contender. Something happened to this guys head with that near death experience in Puerto Rico. I doubt he'd want to give Herrera a rematch. LOL!!!

Because it rings hollow. Just be honest-with the ongoing lawsuit Haymon isn't going to allow his fighters into any big GBP fights right now. I get that.

Just don't keep having fighters try and explain it this way. They come off as liars, especially when Haymon has a handful of better fighters at 140/147 for danny and lamont to fight.

Well said. And from the fighters standpoint, you have the final say who you fight or won't fight. That's why Floyd has avoided Manny for almost 6 years now. If you're Garcia and you have ANY pride as Champion, you don't agree to Salka. For Garcia to weasel around and say Haymon makes and chooses all my fights for me is just weak at best. Grow a set Garcia.
