Fight is real, negotiations are taking place now. Looks like an October date in a triple header that will include Dawson.

      Link/source?

I was talking to Roberto Garcia on twitter yesterday and he said he hasn't heard anything about a Thurman fight and is expecting a November date.

Garcias options are Kameagi or Thurman. Either late october or november. Thurman is still relatively untested. Diego Chaves gave him a damn good fight before getting ko'd. Roberto Garcia will give him a damn good fight and can definitely win.

Prescott had a 5 inch reach advantage and was at least 2 inches taller. That wont be the case vs Thurman. Garcia is taller and has a longer reach

Chaves was only competitive with Thurman when they went toe to toe, Thurman started boxing after 3-4 rounds and took over.

Roberto Garcia is a tough guy, he could probably go the distance with Thurman, but he wouldn't win many rounds.

Garcia would have to be a lot busier than he's been in the last three fights and he would have to cut the ring effectively to make it competitive

he did well against prescott who is taller and has a longer reach than Thurman. & how good is thurmans power? he is a great talent and has ton of potential but this would be one of if not the toughest fight of Thurmans career thus far.

Roberto would have to fight a damn good fight but so would Thurman. It would be tough on both guys but Im glad it'll be 12 rounds cuz Roberto is always in great shape and always finishes strong.

Thurman just need to be patient, he will get his moment and his big shot. Just keep destroying what they put in front of you and the fans will start to demand bigger matches for him. He is only 25 Years old, RELAX! But I get it, especially when he see someone like Broner, Canelo and these others getting HYPE and good paydays, guys who I am sure he feels he is better than and can beat.

But Thurman will get his moment for sure, they won't be able to ignore you forever.

I get your point, and it's not wrong, but if you're in his shoes you gotta be like "nah fck that, quit giving me bums and lets get some real fights in." Tomorrow isn't promised, he could get hit by bus next week and it'll be all over. He's said he's unafraid of losing and doesn't care about the 'mystique' of an 0 on the record.

He's from the school of thought, the best fight the best and he isn't being allowed to follow that. If it's Haymon's fault then he needs to go because he isn't serving his client's interest

It is not like they are not trying I am sure, not many are willing to step in with Thurman, Alexander said he would but I am sure his Manager/Training, Kevin Cunningham probably stepped in on that one and advised him to leave that one alone.

Thurman is a big Welterweight with Vicious Power and this is why nobody wants to get in with him Voluntarily so all he can do is keep winning and climbing up the ranks and hopefully one of these Belt Organizations will order a fight involving him.

What is hurting Thurman actually is the damn WBA and them allowing Mayweather told hold on to that WBA Belt and they are never going to order Mayweather to fight his Mandatory so Thurman is kinda stuck being WBA Interim Welterweight Champion and that is kinda ruining things for him because if he can at least fight for that belt and win it then that would at least allow the WBA to ORDER matches for him and he can just take on his mandatory's but because he is stuck as WBA Interim with no chance of getting a shot at the belt, that puts him in a tough situation.

I thought Belts did not matter to Mayweather, don't know why he feel the need to hold on to all of them now. Because he pays a generous "FEE" to all these Belt Organization of course they will allow him to do what he want BUT that is not good for the up and coming guys in which the Belts for them is still VERY IMPORTANT
