Algieri is a better fighter then most of you are giving him credit for. Just because he's not a big name most of you are assuming he's no good.. Well last I checked some of you were screaming for Manny to fight Provodnikov and guess what? Algieri beat him. Chris has all the tools to pull out the upset win against Pac and deep in your hearts I'm sure some of you know it, quit with the bitter hating for once and give the kid a chance.

He'll be running like Bolt..................Manny should catch up by the 8th but he will get hit coming in if the kid stops and sets but I doubt he will.
He will be looking to drop right hands and hook underneath against Manny and if he tries it the fight might get interesting. Styles make fights but what I've seen out of Chris is running not boxing. He ran from Rocky because his eye was serious but I think he runs anyways!

Promoters and managers set this stuff up....Roach didn't negotiate to get Algieri for pac.....Lord ! So he thinks Algieri is a waste of time or whatever...He didn't negotiate it, just trains after the fact !
You're absolutely correct! Roach has little influence:

Roach told me he recently talked to Pacman's promoter, Bob Arum, and Roach said that Algieri will get the nod to fight Manny.

"I told Bob, 'I don't like runners,' and Bob said you better find a way, that's who you're fighting," said Roach, the six time Boxing Writers Association trainer of the year.

Roach said he asked if there wasn't somebody more popular, or a better stylistic fit for the 56-5-2 Pacman, who last gloved up April 12, when he conclusively beat (UD12) Tim Bradley in a rematch tangle. After all, Roach offered, Provodnikov would love to clash with the Filipino icon. Nope, Arum said, according to Roach, that'd be a hard sell because he lost his last fight, to Algieri.

"I can't promote that," Arum said to Roach. "Bob likes Algieri, and he told me that's who we're getting."

I don't trust Arum, and this fight don't sound right. Roach wanted Danny Garcia (which is still a ***** move for the WW Champ) and Arum said "Nope, no way." He never said why. He didn't say Haymon said no. He never gave a reason. Arum is and has been trying to keep all his money in-house, and Manny is the cash cow. As soon as Manny starts slipping (which JMM already showed), Arum will be looking to replace him, or use Manny to build up his China project, then dump him like trash. He's (Arum) a snake, and Manny is easy prey. Very unfortunate!

Roach's ego always makes him tell the truth, just like when he said they took the fight with Oscar because Oscar could nolonger pull the trigger and rejected Mosley cause Mosley was too good when Mosley begging for Manny until Floyd schooled Mosley and when Mosley was nolonger good, team Pac then takes the fight with Mosley

I'm a huge Pac fan, but this is embarrassing to be a PPV matchup. At least mayweather is fighting ppv worthy opponents.

And roach is like a broken record pre-Pac fights.he predicts KO and it never comes. Expect him to say that if Pac doesn't impress him in this fight, then he'll advise him to retire (giving the casual fan the idea that this may be mannys last fight). Of course, manny will win a relatively easy majority decision showing signs of slight decline. Next fight against a bull**** opponent scheduled for April. Same song and dance, and it's getting old...even to hardcore Pac fans.
                  ****, bob arum!!
