Comments Thread For: Donaire Ready and Willing To Fight Lomachenko Next

The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire returned to his championship ways as he captured the WBA Super World Featherweight title when he defeated Simpiwe Vetyeka this past May in Macau, China via technical decision. This marked Donaire’s fifth title in a fifth weight division and he now hopes to continue to try to clean out the Featherweight division.

One possible fight for Donaire is against former two time Olympics gold medalist and now WBO Featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko. The Ukraine amateur standout won his title in only his third professional bout and now a showdown with Donaire seems like a likely scenario.

Make it happen. If Donaire wins I could see this as a confident maker to get a rematch with Rigo.

Donaire is no punk. This fight should happen easily. Feel sorry for Vetyeka though. I thought I remembered Donaire saying he would give him a rematch.

Good fight but I can't see Donaire winning. Make it happen.

I'd watch this fight. if Loma won his first 5 fights would be at a higher level than anyone I can remotely think of.

Donaire beats him in a snooze fest.

One guy only looks for 1 punch while the other only works 30 seconds of every round.

Bad, bad style matchup for Donaire and kind of a lose-lose fight for me as I'm a big fan of both guys. Still, I hope it happens.

A question to Rigo fans: if Loma beats Donaire, will he be top 5 P4P, too? Or does it only work for Rigo? Or maybe Donaire is not a good win any more because "Rigo took his soul"?
